Truck Caps Built by People Who Actually Use Them
We started A.R.E. Truck Caps because pickup owners deserve better than a plastic shell that leaks after one winter. Every fiberglass cap and camper shell we carry is engineered to bolt straight to your factory bed rails, seal against the elements, and hold its color match under real sun.
From full-size Silverados, F-150s, and Ram 1500s to mid-size Tacomas and compact Maverick pickups, we stock the A.R.E. CX, MX, Z, and V Series alongside the LEER 100XL, 100XQ, 100R, and 180. Whether you’re outfitting a work truck with a commercial utility cap or building an overland rig with a walk-in, high-rise topper, we carry the caps, toppers, and bed accessories that get the job done.
Fiberglass. Aluminum. Stainless steel. Modular, insulated, custom-fit. If it goes on a pickup bed, we can help you find the right fit.
Engineered for Work, Weather & Weekend
Four reasons pickup owners across the country trust A.R.E. and LEER truck caps for daily driving, jobsite hauling, and overland travel.
Real Fiberglass, Real Paint Match
Every fiberglass truck cap is molded, sanded, and painted to match your factory truck color — not a bolt-on plastic shell.
Weather-Sealed Locking Doors
Keyed T-handle locks and full weather stripping keep tools, camping gear, and cargo dry and out of sight.
Model-Specific Fitment
Camper shells and truck caps built for F-150, F-250, Silverado, Sierra, Ram 1500/2500/3500, Tacoma, Titan, and Maverick beds.
Commercial & Overland Ready
Utility caps for contractors and roof-rack-ready overland toppers — the same brand, engineered for two different jobs.
What Pickup Owners Say About Their Caps
Put the LEER 100XL on my F-150 two winters ago. Paint still matches the truck, the rear door still seals dry, and the locker keeps my tools out of sight on jobsites. Best money I’ve spent on this pickup.
Went with the A.R.E. CX Classic for my Tacoma and it’s the cleanest camper shell fit I’ve had on any truck. Bolted straight to the bed rails, glass tracks perfectly, and it looks like it came from the factory.
Questions Pickup Owners Ask Us Most
What’s the difference between a truck cap, camper shell, and truck topper?
They’re the same product — three regional names for a hard-shell cover that bolts to your pickup bed rails and encloses the bed. “Truck cap” is common in the Midwest and East, “camper shell” is common on the West Coast, and “truck topper” is used across the North. All of our LEER and A.R.E. models are labeled by their series (100XL, CX Classic, 180, etc.) so fitment is consistent no matter what you call it.
Will an A.R.E. or LEER truck cap fit my truck?
Yes — every model is built for specific truck-bed makes, model years, and bed lengths. We carry caps and shells for Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, and Maverick; Chevy Silverado; GMC Sierra; Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500; Toyota Tacoma; and Nissan Titan. Match your truck’s year, model, and bed length (short bed, standard, or long bed) to the product page for the correct fit.
Fiberglass truck cap vs. aluminum truck cap — which is better?
Fiberglass caps like the LEER 100XL and A.R.E. CX are painted to match your factory truck color, are quieter on the highway, and are the standard for full-size pickups. Aluminum caps are lighter, more affordable, and popular for work trucks and commercial fleets where a factory-color finish isn’t required. Both are secure and weather-sealed.
Are these truck caps color-matched to my pickup?
Our fiberglass A.R.E. and LEER models can be color-matched to factory paint codes for Ford, Chevy, GMC, Ram, Toyota, and Nissan trucks. Aluminum commercial caps typically ship in white or primer-ready finishes. Check each product page for available color options and paint-code compatibility.
Can I install a truck cap myself?
Yes. A.R.E. and LEER truck caps clamp to your factory bed rails with included hardware — no drilling required on most modern pickups. Two people can install a cap in about 30–60 minutes. If your cap includes wiring for a third brake light or interior dome light, plan an extra 15 minutes to run the harness to your truck’s bed connector.
Do I need a commercial or utility truck cap for work?
If you carry ladders, contractor tools, plumbing, or HVAC gear daily, a LEER or A.R.E. commercial cap is worth it. Commercial and utility caps include reinforced roofs for ladder racks, larger side-access doors for tools, and higher-visibility windows. Contractors and fleet buyers typically choose the commercial line over standard camper shells.
Can I put a roof rack or rooftop tent on my truck cap?
Overland-focused caps like the A.R.E. Z Series and LEER 180 are engineered with reinforced rack-ready roofs and side rails. Standard cab-high caps like the LEER 100XL and A.R.E. CX Classic support light roof loads (kayaks, cargo boxes) but are not rated for rooftop tents. Check the load rating on each product page before mounting overland gear.
